§ — From the desk  ·  About Clarity

A study tool
made for serious students.

Clarity started in a college library at 2 a.m., the week before finals. The reading list was longer than the weekend. We tried pasting chapters into chatbots, watched them hallucinate citations, and then spent another hour hunting the textbook to make sure the answer was real. Eventually we stopped hunting and built the thing properly: a study tool that quotes the page it claims to be quoting, every time. This is what came of it.

The thesis

“Understanding a chapter shouldn’t depend on how many hours of sleep you’re willing to give up. It should depend on how clearly the reading has been prepared for you.”

§ II  —  The principles
pp. 8 – 11

Four rules
we study by.

  • I.// Cited

Every claim, traced to a page.

Citations aren't a feature — they're the whole point. If Clarity tells you something, it shows you the exact page of your reading where it came from, so you can quote it confidently in an essay.

  • II.// Honest

A tool, not a shortcut around learning.

Clarity won't write your essay for you. It prepares the reading so you can actually understand it — summaries to orient you, glossaries to translate the jargon, quizzes to check yourself.

  • III.// Built for studying

From AP Bio to the bar exam.

The same engine that breaks down a high-school physics chapter handles MCAT review papers and law-school casebooks. Pick a mode — Education, General, or Legal — and Clarity adapts.

  • IV.// Private

    Your readings stay yours.

Encrypted at rest, locked to your account, and never used to train models. Your notes and uploads belong to you — not the cloud, not the AI, not us.

§ III  —  The chronology

A short syllabus of our work.

  1. MMXXVI · I
    Entry №1

    Founded by students

A few friends, tired of skimming 200-page readings the night before class, started building the tool they wished existed.

  2. MMXXVI · II
    Entry №2

    Education mode

Quizzes, glossaries, ELI5 explanations, and study tips ship — designed around how students actually learn.

  3. MMXXVI · III
    Entry №3

    Workspaces

Group every reading for a class into one workspace. Chat across the whole semester at once.

  4. MMXXVI · V
    Entry №4

    Anki decks

One-click Anki export across every mode. Spaced repetition, on your phone, before the exam.
